As organizations implement telework, they soon find the need to address the cultural issues associated with remote work, additional technology requirements for connecting people, and increased vacancy in their traditional office infrastructure.
But telework can be leveraged for great value if the organization creates a workplace that integrates the people and their work processes, technology and facility into a network of interconnected places to work.
The old "office" thereby becomes a "network of space", or many places to work, including home, downtown office, satellite office, and telework center - all provisioned and managed as a coordinated whole.
Companies and government agencies that implement this integrated network of places to conduct business reap tremendous benefits for their employees, management and the organization as a whole. People find and secure the assets they need when and where they need them and locate coworkers more easily for enhanced collaboration.
Management can control shared workplaces and conference rooms more efficiently and effectively and reduce or eliminate the cost of churn. Organizations can have more productive employees and save millions of dollars in real estate costs.
John Vivadelli, founder and President of AgilQuest Corporation, will lead this first of six MATAC programs dedicated to Alternative Officing.
He will set the stage for the following presentations on this topic. AgilQuest implemented integrated workplace management solutions (including Alternative Officing-AO, Conference Room Management and Move Management) at Ernst & Young, Hewlett Packard, Deloitte, Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), Canada's IRS and many other organizations.
He will present a tutorial on the steps necessary to implement it successfully. You will learn how organizations address four key business processes associated with a Network of Space: Alternative Officing (hoteling, etc.), Meeting Room Management, Churn or Move Management, and Business Continuity (COOP).
