Many thanks to Sen. Christopher Dodd and U.S. Rep. Christopher Shays for sponsoring legislation that offers important protection to Connecticut residents who telecommute to New York employers.
As things stand now, New York requires thousands of Connecticut residents who telecommute to New York businesses to pay New York taxes on the income they earn while working at home — even though Connecticut may tax its residents on the same income.
|
Because New York has refused to stop subjecting Connecticut telecommuters to the risk of double taxation, Congress must. Both houses must act swiftly to pass the bipartisan Dodd-Shays legislation.
