He is currently a research scholar for the </div> <div> Government of Maryland. </div> <div> He writes for the Washington DC- based Urban Land Institute and his work </div> <div> has been published by media  including Reader's Digest, the Christian Science </div> <div> Monitor News Syndicate, Urban Land Magazine, the Truman Publications series </div> <div> of reports on business, science, technology and public policy, and the Harvard </div> <div> International Review. </div> <div> Mr. Slabbert's research is concerned with the evolution of urban concepts in the </div> <div> 21st century and the multidisciplinary nature of technological impacts on </div> <div> society, business and government. He has extensively advised companies and </div> <div> government agencies internationally.
