Michael V. Velotta
President, Lore Internet Systems
Mr. Velotta has more than 15 years experience in network data center and computer server
operations. In 1988, Mr. Velotta helped build and manage the PlaceNameNetwork
PlaceNameOperations PlaceTypeCenter at the Department of Justice in placeCityWashington,
StateDC. Following his 2-year tenure with the government, which also included various Defense
Department projects, Mr. Velotta took a position as the lead project manager for client-server
systems at Mobil Oil Corporation. At Mobil Oil, Mr. Velotta led several mainframe projects into
the highly technical arena of Unix and Microsoft Windows client-server applications.
In 1995, Mr. Velotta began working for Microsoft Corporation on the new web project initiatives.
He launched many new pilot web projects, including the popular Student Co-Op program.
This web project, a grass-roots program, allowed computer engineers and science students
to request evaluation software and technical support from the Microsoft Development center
in CityplaceRedmond, StateWA. Today, much of the work that Mr. Velotta was involved in is
part of the Microsoft Developer Network, which is used globally by application development
teams.
In late 1996, Mr. Velotta, founded Lore Internet Systems. Initially, the company provided high-
speed Internet services, such as DS-1's and web and electronic mail hosting to many pioneer
dot-com companies. Mr. Velotta was instrumental in building the first Lore Internet Systems
network operation center in CityplaceWashington, StateDC. Today, Lore Internet Systems
hosts thousands of businesses with its highly reliable, fully redundant meshed network and
certified network and support engineers. In addition, Mr. Velotta is an active member of the
Internet community, including the ARIN and Internet Registrars.
