Susan Harrington
Susan Harrington is co-founder and President of Harrington Software Associations, Inc., a company specializing in safety software development. Harrington has over 14 years experience conducting safety research. She has managed safety projects funded by the National Institute on Aging, National Institute of Nursing Research, and the Centers for Disease Control.
Harrington was recently the Principal Investigator of a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research Grant titled “Occupational Safety and Health Training for Teleworkers, funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. As part of this research, Harrington convened a meeting with leaders in government safety and teleworking to discuss the safety issues that affect teleworkers. She developed and pilot tested a computer-based training module titled "Ergonomics for Teleworkers". During this research, Harrington demonstrated the need for safety training for teleworkers.
Harrington has published research articles in Fire Technology, The Journal of Continuing Education in Nursing and the Journal for Nurses in Staff Development.
Prior to founding HSA, Harrington was a senior fire protection engineer for the General Services Administration. She has a master's degree in fire protection engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer.
