Harriet West
Harriet West is a senior consultant with Clifton Gunderson LLP, a nationwide accounting
and consulting firm. Her area of expertise is providing telework training and technical
assistance to organizations.
She has more than 20 years of experience planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating
diverse programs for governmental, commercial, and nonprofit organizations.
She led the development and implementation of a regional telework program in the Washington
metropolitan region between 1996 and 2001. During that time, she managed a telework
demonstration project that provided free consulting services to eight local employers. This
initiative subsequently served as the model for several other similar programs in different parts
of the country. She also developed and conducted telework training programs attended by
more than 800 employers and employees.
She has been involved in work-at-home issues since the early 1990s when she co-founded and
served as president of the Frederick Home-Based Business Association. She also served on
the board of directors for the International Telework Association and Council.
She has a Master's degree in Business Administration. She lives in Northern Virginia and works
from home on a regular basis.
