Telework/Broadband Deployment
HB 1386/Telecommuting Enhancement Act/Lingamfelter (Prince William)-Would prohibit establishment of different standards between or among telecommuting worksites and traditional central worksites. Under the Act, no state law or regulation or local ordinance would be construed to discriminate or create a different standard. Also would amend the Virginia Public Procurement Act to prohibit discrimination against a bidder or offeror that allows its employees to telecommute.

HB 1387/Local business license fees; telecommuting enhancement exemption/Lingamfelter (Prince William)-Would provide an exemption from local business license fees to any person, firm, or corporation whose annual gross receipts do not exceed $250,000 and at least 75 percent of whose business operations are carried out through telecommuting.
